Long Island College Student Nabbed For Selling Drugs Through Social Media, Police Say

A student living on a college campus on Long Island is facing a host of felony charges after police searched his dorm room and found a veritable pharmacy of different drugs, police said.

A month-long investigation into drug sales at Stony Brook University by the Suffolk County Police Department led to the arrest of Domingo Zaba, who was living on campus and allegedly selling drugs through social media.

The joint investigation by Stony Brook State University Police and the Suffolk County Police Department led to Zaba’s arrest at approximately 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28 on campus.

According to police, after arresting the 41-year-old Zaba, they executed a search warrant at his dorm room, where investigators seized drugs including fentanyl, cocaine, mushrooms, Xanax, ketamine, and marijuana.

In total Zaba was charged with 15 felonies, including three counts each of:

  • Second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance;
  • Third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance;
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance;
  • Fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Zaba was also charged with one count each of:

  • Second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance;
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance;
  • Fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Following his arrest, Zaba was held and scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday, Oct. 29.
